Another important and often overlooked way of improving your Internet speed is to consistently check your router. One of the things that you are going to want to check on your router is the overall age and condition of the router, mostly because all the routers can begin to wear out and limit your Internet speeds, at which point you will want to replace the router entirely. Another issue to look for with your router is if any of the cables or vents on the router are dusty, mostly because the dust can also contribute to slow Internet speeds which you can deal with by simply using a can of compressed air to clear out all of the dust.

Purchase Range Extenders

Finally, you will want to consider purchasing range extenders to increase your Wi-Fi range and speeds. This is extremely useful if you don't have a lot of options as to where you can place your router, but still need to be able to get reliable and fast Wi-Fi speeds to every room in your house.

When you first buy a range extender, you will have to program it to interact with your Wi-Fi network in order to allow that range extender to work as a secondary router to increase the range of your network, at which point you can simply plug that range extender into any outlet in the house. This option is a  great and fairly inexpensive way to ensure that your Wi-Fi network covers the entirety of your home without having to worry as muchabout issues like being out of range, dropped connections, or slow speeds..
